A Special Mix of Solutions

Specialty Mix Partners with Opal Logic and ASP Microcomputers to Implement a Warehouse Management and Scanning Solution for Their Jiwa Financials ERP System

Overview

For over 50 years, Specialty Mix has been a leading wholesale supplier for a wide range of quality pet and animal food, stock feeds, pharmaceuticals, supplements, health care and accessories. Originally founded by Brian Barnes and his partner in 1965, they specialised in providing premixes for pig and cattle farmers. Slowly but surely, they expanded the business and at one point had stock in six different sheds. As the business grew so did the challenge of keeping on top of everything. The increase in orders and large range of products inevitably lead to errors in picking and inventory control. It started to cost real money in terms of additional freight, loss of product and a reduction in customer satisfaction. In 2018, they expanded again, this time into one very large purpose-built warehouse. Today, with over 4000 product lines, Specialty Mix is one of the leading distributors of quality pet and animal feeds in Australia.
