Z4 DataTraq

The Z4 DataTraq is an exceptionally VERSATILE 2 in 1 product, working as both Portable and Fixed Barcode Reader (saving you buying two products). The DataTraq is designed to work with all sorts of Scanners, from Wands, to the Barcode Zapper (CCD), and Laser Guns, so the most appropriate for the application can be chosen.

The Datatraq works immediately, straight out of the box and without programming, but includes the ASP BASIC language so programs from ASP's Web Site can be loaded, or custom applications written.

It has a clear 2 line LCD display, and a robust sealed keypad with easy to use large buttons. Multiple interfaces are included, PC Keyboard, RS232 and RS232 Wedge (for Video Terminals). You can purchase the DataTraq with a Wand or other ASP Scanner.

As standard it comes with 32K RAM, its Homebase/recharger, your choice of 5 pin DIN or 6 pin Mini DIN Keyboard Cable, Plug Pak (in Australia) and Manual. Options available include memory expansion to 128K, or 512K, Clock/Calendar, Leather Case, and firmware extensions for easy integration of modems.

ASP's low cost Programmer's Pak is required only if you wish to write your own programs. Otherwise ASP's free or custom programs come with an inbuilt "loader" making their transfer into the memory of the DataTraq very straightforward.

When the DataTraq is used as a fixed barcode reader attached to its HomeBase it is automatically recharged ready for portable use at any time. The ability to use as a fixed reader is also of great value in promoting familiarity with the unit in either fixed or portable roles. Contrast this with occasional use of a portable only reader. You get it out of storage, only to find the batteries flat, AND you've probably forgotten how to use it!

Denso Integrated Readers

ASP markets several Denso Portable Barcode Readers which are fully integrated terminals. While the units are suited only to portable use, unlike the Z4 DataTraq above, it does reduce the clutter and perhaps free an operator's hand.

There are a number of Denso Integrated Portables - the BHT-300 and BHT-8000 using CCD scanning technology, and the BHT-7500, which uses a laser scanner. Also available are a range of Windows CE based terminals, such as the BHT-200 and BHT-400 series.

BHT-300
The BHT-300 is the latest in the Denso range, and has the largest screen in its class, along with the ability to scan barcodes from up to 45cm away.

Powered by a high capacity rechargeable lithium ion battery, and with a power-saving design, the BHT-300 will operate for up to an amazing 135 hours when reading barcodes twice every ten seconds, and even longer at lower scan rates.

The BHT-300 is available in standard, wireless LAN, and Bluetooth models, with 2.2Mb or 5.8Mb of user memory. A 16Mb 2D version is also available.

The BHT-300 can be ordered already loaded with software for use with HP Trim, ready to run out of the box.

BHT-8000
The BHT-8000 is the size of a mobile phone, and combines a distance barcode scanner, a durable resin keypad, and a graphics LCD display in a rugged and lightweight unit. It achieves "laser-like" distance scanning performance by using advanced CCD Scanning technology.

The BHT-8000 can be powered by standard AAA alkaline batteries, or a rechargeable battery pack. For compactness and capability, the BHT-8000 is hard to beat.

The BHT-8000 can be ordered already loaded with software for use with HP Trim, ready to run out of the box.

BHT-400
The BHT-400B-CE series terminals are suited to a wide range of applications including retail and warehouse. Available with or without trigger grip and with a 50 or 26 key keypad. Long battery life with a 3800mAhr (20+ hours) battery is standard.

BHT-200
With a large and bright QVGA screen with the latest CE.NET operating environment, the BHT200 series of scanners are suited to a wide range of applications including Warehousing, stock control and field applications.

Common Features of Denso Scanners
As well as beeping like every other barcode reader, all of the Denso units can be set to vibrate, like some mobile phones, providing a way of attracting operator attention in a noisy environment, or perhaps in situations where beeping might cause a disturbance.

All of the Denso scanners can download information via a direct connect cable, or infrared either directly to a computer or via a cradle. The BHT-300 and BHT-7500 are also available in IEEE 802.11b wireless versions, and the BHT-300 is also available in a Bluetooth model.

The BHT-8000 and BHT-7500 can be powered by alkaline batteries (2 x AAA and 2 x AA respectively), and all of the units can use a rechargeable battery pack.

The Application Development Language is BHT-BASIC, and ASP will develop applications for you. The same language can be used for all of the units, the only differences being in the screen size and keyboards.

IT-800

DT-930

Opticon OPN-2001

This tiny (30mm x 62mm x 16mm and only 28g!) pocket memory scanner makes barcode data collection simple for anyone.

Using the scanner is straightforward – scan a barcode and it will be stored automatically. If you make a mistake, the lower button allows you to re-scan the barcode to remove the item from memory.

For easy data transfer, the scanner is equipped with a standard USB port, which is also used to charge the internal battery.

The scanner has a large internal memory - over 10,000 codes can be stored and removed by the user at any time, with time and date stamping if needed.

MiniTraq

ASP's MiniTraq incorporates a 100 scan per second CCD scan engine that makes marginal barcodes of practically any symbology read as though they were perfect. It stores them into non-volatile memory so that there is no risk of losing your important data, even if the batteries are removed.

And with nearly 30,000 characters of data storage, you can fit in a lot of barcodes!

To download, just plug in the cable and hold the scan button in for a few seconds, and your data is transferred quickly via an RS-232 port using the provided download utility.

When not scanning, the MiniTraq automatically reduces battery consumption, or you can turn it off altogether with its power switch, allowing very long battery life with 2 AAA alkaline batteries.

Datalogic Gryphon Scanner

The new Gryphon reader series has been developed to provide optimised reading performance through excellent ergonomic design, a natural instinctive reading approach and innovative good reading feedback.

The Instinctive Reading Distance, a concept introduced by Datalogic a few years ago based on in-depth ergonomic studies, represents the natural position of the user while reading a code. The Gryphon series takes this concept one step further. The series includes two tethered (D100 and D200) and two cordless (M100 and M200) models, allowing operations anywhere mobility is required at the desk/pOS and around the shop floor, as well as in a small warehouse. The new green spot produced by the Gryphon provides good reading feedback directly on the code, where the user usually tends to be looking. Correct pointing becomes quick and easy thanks to the sharp and bright illumination line. DataSnap

The innovative ASP DataSnap is an Integrated Portable SmartCard and Magnetic Stripe Reader. As such it is a cost effective base for custom applications developed to your requirements by ASP.

With its integrated (but hinged or removable) keypad cover, most applications can be developed to be driven just using the exposed cursor keys, making the product less intimidating to casual users.

DataSnap will read and write SMARTCARDS, reads MAG STRIPE CARDS (1, 2 or 3 Tracks). It has 128K of battery backed RAM, 512K of Flash Memory, and a Clock/Calendar. Its Keypad and LARGE 128 x 64 LCD Graphics Panel may be backlit (the display allows up to 8 lines x 20 characters).
